MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
An 18-year-old man who authorities say was in the car that Auburn shooting suspect Desmonte Leonard used to flee University Heights Saturday evening has a criminal record of his own.
Jeremy Thomas was arrested and charged Monday with hindering prosecution for leaving the scene with Leonard.
A WSFA 12 News archives check shows that in June 2011, Thomas was charged with homicide in the death of a 14-year old girl. The girl was not identified because of her age, but authorities charged that Thomas shot her one in the chest.
He was held at the Montgomery County Detention facility until being released on a $75,000 bond.
Court records show that a grand jury later indicted Thomas on manslaughter in connect with the case. The suspect was 17-years-old at the time of the girl's death, and subsequently applied for youthful offender status.
A jury trial was sheduled for June 18, 2012, but it wasn't immediately known what effect Monday's arrest will have on that trial.
The Montgomery District Attorney's office confirmed that a motion was filed and approved Monday to revoke Thomas' bond.
