Monday Afternoon Headlines

This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom.

A construction worker has died after an industrial accident at the site of the new jail being built in Cameron Parish. Officials said the worker was under a load when it fell.

And it's been three weeks since 22-year-old Mickey Shunick went missing...and now massive search efforts are winding down. Officials say there won't be any more large, organized searches unless new evidence surfaces.

And chief Meteorologist Wade Hampton will talk about the extreme weather that drenched the gulf coast this weekend. Some areas got up to 22 inches of water. We'll show you parts of Florida, where water raised so quickly it covered up cars.

Coming up on 7 News at Six Sports, we'll look back at last night's shocking series loss by LSU to Stony Brook in college baseball. We'll also catch up with the returning Tigers Women's track Team after their National Title winning weekend. Plus the war of words between LSU and Alabama has already begun, 5 months before the two teams meet on the Gridiron at Tiger Stadium.

Join us for Live at Five and 7 News at Six.
