Gov. Jindal vetoes certain bills

Governor Bobby Jindal has vetoed a bill that would have created a tax rebate for donations to public schools.

House Bill 1106 would have created a tax rebate for those who make contributions to low-performing schools.

Gov. Jindal wrote in the veto letter that the bill would have created expenses outside the scope of state funding for public schools.

The governor also vetoed a number of other bills, including one to require evaluations of whether tax breaks to businesses are effective.
