The clock is winding down on this year's legislative session. Lawmakers close the books on the session at 6 p.m. We'll tell you how the budget battle turned out.

And it's a victory for veterans! They've needed a medical facility here in Lake Charles for a long time. And today the VA mobile clinic finally opened for business on Fifth Avenue. We'll tell you how local veterans can get healthcare close to home.

Now that school's out for summer, a local program is making sure all children have a healthy lunch within reach.

There may be a few showers around tomorrow; but a better chance returns Wednesday and beyond. Temperatures for the next seven days will be near 90 in the afternoon and in the low to mid 70s in the mornings. Heat indices will be hot with values between the mid to upper 90s! If you are going to be outside for any length of time be sure to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen.
