DWI checkpoints net 6 arrests

State troopers announced the arrest of at least six people in separate DWI checkpoints this week.

Troop D and Calcasieu Sheriff's Department officials say they conducted arrested one person for DWI at a checkpoint on LA 3020. Six additional citations were issued for no child restraint, one for no seat belt and four for driving without a license, among other citations.

Five other drivers were arrested along LA 26 at a separate checkpoint in Jefferson Davis Parish on Friday.

Don't forget the "Click-it or Ticket" seat belt enforcement continues through June 3rd.
