Good morning! Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon

A heart-breaking night for fans of Joshua Ledet on American Idol.  The Westlake native was eliminated from the contest before next week's finale.  Local folks had a lot to say and we'll share their comments

Also today, do you have a bucket list?  A lot of people do, and one woman was able to check off a need for speed on her list.  She got behind the wheel of a fast car - just like the kind driven by NASCAR racers.  Come along with us for the ride.

Speaking of living your dream, we'll also meet a teenager who proves that blindness could not keep her away from her goal – to become a cheerleader.

Facebook is friending Wall Street today.  The social network is going public in the third largest public stock offering in U.S. history.

Ben tells me we can expect clear skies for awhile, but don't be surprised if you should start to feel the heat soon.  It could get to 90 by mid-afternoon!   What about the weekend?  Well, Ben's working on his full, up-to-the-minute, local forecast right now.   In the meantime, he wants to remind you about the big Hurricane Preparedness Expo at Prien Lake Mall tomorrow.  You can find all the details HERE

Remember, you can watch us online at kplctv.com and on air each and every weekday at noon.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend everyone!

For the Oakdale Police Department one of their constant battles isn't necessarily with criminals, but instead with their phones. Their phone lines were down for most of the weekend, and just got back up yesterday, but this isn't the first time they've dealt with this.  The phones are ringing at the Oakdale Police Department now, but this past weekend that wasn’t the case.  “Friday evening our phones went down,” said police chief, Joseph Lockett. ...More >>
