The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On May 17, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation near mile marker 41 eastbound on I-10.

When Sgt. Cole spoke with the driver, Rhawnie R. Tijerina, 26, of Satellite Beach, FL, she began to act suspiciously.

Sgt. Cole received permission from Tijerina to search the car, and with his K-9 "Basco" recovered 2 large white trash bags in the trunk of the car, containing 25 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $50,000.  The marijuana was wrapped in layers of trash bags, fabric softener sheets, and stored inside a plastic storage bin.

Tijerina was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
