KPLC to televise Josh Ledet homecoming parade

KPLC-TV will offer a slight change to its programming line-up Saturday to provide live coverage of the Josh Ledet homecoming parade in Westlake.

The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Saturday and will include interviews and recaps of stories produced earlier this year.

Officials estimate thousands will gather along the parade route on Sampson St. between McKinley and Garden, where the parade will end at Westlake High School.

While there's virtually no limit to the number of people who can see the parade in person, 7,900 tickets for Saturday night's pep rally event at Burton Coliseum were gone within hours of their release Thursday night.

In addition to Ledet, the parade is expected to include relatives, local dignitaries, the Westlake High School Marching Band, flag corps & cheerleaders.

Ledet secured his spot as one of 3 finalists on the Fox program American Idol Thursday night after performing James Brown's "It's a Man's World," and Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up," on Wednesday's broadcast.

The program will select a winner during its season finale broadcast scheduled for May 24.
