La. superintendent speaks to educators

JENNINGS, LA (KPLC) - State superintendent John White spoke to local teachers at Jennings High School about his plan and goals for Louisiana education.

"We have to keep improvement going," White said.

Progress in the state is up, according to White.

"Kids are learning," he said. "But we have challenges ahead of us."

White's proposed plan would set academic goals for Louisiana, more family choices, ensure change and improvement, and ask how educators are held accountable.

Olivia Vidal will have more about the meeting on later editions of 7 News.
