A Louisiana teen will be testing her smarts on Jeopardy Wednesday night.
Catherine Briley, a senior at Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte, was chosen to be a contestant on the game show. Briley is the captain of Sacred Heart's Quiz Bowl team. She earned the title of student of the year, and is a national merit finalist.
Briley said her dream of meeting the host of Jeopardy, a show she has watched since she was just five years old, is coming true.
"When he walked out I was just in complete and utter shock, it was like how did I get to this point?" Briley said. "You don't think your actually going to do it, you're like I can do that but you don't actually expect to actually make it to the show, so that was amazing."
More than 20,000 high school students competed for a spot on the show and Briley was one of only 15 to be selected.
Briley will compete on the show at 6:30 p.m.
