Wednesday Afternoon Headlines

Hello everyone. This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom.

Punishments for the Saints bounty scandal have finally been handed down. We'll tell you which players will be out of the game this season.

Also, formal charges have been handed down against the Rayne mother accused of leaving her four children home alone in a mobile home that burned down. All four children died in that fire.

And we'll have the latest from the courtroom in the Robyn Davis-Sissy Saltzman trial. Today Brian Davis' alleged mistress took the witness stand.

Temperatures tonight will only drop into the upper 60s or low 70s with any rain ending after sunset. Thursday looks warm again with highs in the mid 80s and a slight 20 percent chance of afternoon showers.

Coming up on 7 News at Six Sports, we'll have the story of a future NFL Hall of Fame linebacker's death, plus we've got this week's Seven Sportsperson of the Week.

These stories coming up today on Live at Five and 7 News at Six.

The Saharan dust is still around and is expected to be in a "unhealthy for sensitive groups" today. If you have breathing problems, or asthma, make sure to use caution if you spend any time outdoors. There will also be very warm temperatures, reaching the mid 90s. There will not be any rain to cool these temperatures down. It will likely feel like the triple digits, getting as high as 107 degrees. It will take time for the temperatures to cool down with no rain.
