Wednesday Afternoon Headlines

Good afternoon. This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC newsroom.

Heart wrenching testimony is underway in court today from a 94-year-old DeQuincy woman who was brutally beaten and raped on Jan. 28 of this year. The tiny, frail woman had to be helped to the witness stand so her testimony could be recorded in case she is not available when the suspect goes to trial.

And it's a sad story from LeBleu Settlement...A seven-year-old girl died after being hit by debris that flew from a lawn mower as the neighbor was cutting the grass. It's a terrible tragedy. But it shows the importance of safety measures that need to be taken as we get further into the summer lawn care season.

The weather is not going to change much over the next seven days, so expect plenty of warm weather with no chance for rain.
