Monday Afternoon Headlines - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Monday Afternoon Headlines

This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom.  Here are some of the stories we'll be bringing to you today on Live at Five and Seven News Live at Six...

Hands full of jurors have been excused in the Robin Davis and Sissy Saltzman murder trial, which makes it look harder and harder for the original jury to be held intact. We'll have the latest from the courtroom.

Plus tonight, we know the name of the victim in last night's tragic accident on Highway 171.  44-year-old Vincent Austin of Lake Charles was struck and killed as he changed a tire on the Calcasieu River Bridge.

And the famous drug dog Basco is at it again!  He helped track a drug suspect who tried to get away on foot after being handcuffed. The suspected is now locked up on a $400,000 bond.

Also at the sports desk, ESPN is reporting that the General Manager of the New Orleans Saints, Mickey Loomis, listened in on opponents in the Superdome during the 2002 - 2004 seasons.  We'll have the Saints reaction on 7News Live at Six.

Wade tells me we will see another beautiful day with low humidity, clear skies and calm wind temperatures. What will the rest of the week look like?

Remember you can watch us on air and online at kplctv.com.

Have a great day everyone!
