SAN MARCOS, Texas (KPLC)- McNeese State's softball team dropped the final game of its Southland Conference series at Texas State today with a 4-0 loss.
The Cowgirls dropped the opening game of the series 8-7 Friday night. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 25-16 overall and 8-6 in league play. Texas State improves to 29-15 overall and 12-2 in SLC play.
The Cowgirls were held to two hits with the hits coming off a single from Claire Terracina and a double from Stacey Conley. Tiffany Denham was on the losing end, falling to 9-8 on the season. Denham gave up seven hits in the complete game loss.
Texas State took a 2-0 lead in the fourth then added two more runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 4-0.
McNeese will host Nicholls in a doubleheader Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. then Louisiana-Lafayette in a single game Wednesday at 6 p.m.
