BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva says a proposal to expand Tiger Stadium will be heard by the LSU Board of Supervisors on April 27.
About 60 suites and approximately 3,000 club seats have been proposed above the existing south end zone seats in Tiger Stadium. The proposal also calls for about 1,500 in new general seating above the proposed suite and club seating.
The proposed expansion would raise the capacity of Tiger Stadium to about 100,000.
The Tigers routinely sell out home games in Death Valley, which currently has a listed seating capacity 92,542.
The Tiger Athletic Foundation, the fundraising arm of LSU sports, is seeking a $100 million bond issue to fund the Tiger Stadium expansion as well as improvements to facilities for some other sports.
