Lafayette police seeking suspect in bank robbery

Lafayette Police are currently searching for a suspect that robbed the Gulf Coast Bank at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday, April 13th.

The suspect entered the business armed with a handgun, ordered the employees away from the counter and jumped over.  He fled the scene in possibly a dark blue SUV with an undisclosed amount cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", 165 lbs, blue jeans, white shirt with multi colored stripes and a tan hat and sunglasses. 

There were no injuries during the incident. The case remains under investigation.

    Entergy asked its customers to conserve electricity Wednesday night.  Entergy customers should begin electricity conservation at 5 a.m. on Thursday, according to Chip Arnould, spokesman for Entergy.
