The following is a Press Release from the Louisiana State Police:

On February 13, 2012, detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations along with special agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were asked to investigate a bank robbery that occurred at the Iberia Bank in Kinder, LA in Allen Parish.

The investigation revealed 57-year-old Evie Herrin of Cleveland, TX entered the bank wearing a disguise and was armed with a handgun.  Herrin then demanded money from a teller.  Herrin fled in a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Amelia Crew of Cleveland, TX.

Investigators determined the two subjects were mother and daughter and they were later responsible for bank robberies in Henderson, TX and Sulphur, LA.

On March 26, 2012, the two robbed a bank in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Herrin and Crew were stopped in Harrison County, MS and were arrested and booked into Harrison County Jail where Amelia Crew is being held. Her mother is an area hospital.

Arrest warrants for armed robbery from Allen Parish and Calcasieu Parish have been served on Herrin and Crew.

The investigation is continuing in cooperation with the FBI, Kinder Police Department, Sulphur Police Department, Henderson (Texas) Police Department, and the Gulfport (Mississippi) Police Department.
