Statement from the Diocese of Lake Charles

The following is a statement from the Diocese of Lake Charles:

In December 2011, the Diocese of Lake Charles received credible allegations regarding the activities of the ex-priest, Mark A. Broussard, and immediately reported the allegations to the District Attorney and Sheriff. The Diocese of Lake Charles has and will continue to cooperate fully with all civil authorities. In light of the ongoing proceedings, the Diocese will have no further comment on this matter.

Bishop Provost offers his prayers and concern to all victims of sexual abuse, most especially this victim and his family.

    Roscoe, the Crowley police K-9 officer who was shot and killed during an overnight shooting last week, was honored on Wednesday in a special procession.

    Roscoe, the Crowley police K-9 officer who was shot and killed during an overnight shooting last week, was honored on Wednesday in a special procession.

    His handler officer, Tate Thibodeaux, was hospitalized in the shooting.
