Rising water warning from Beauregard Parish officials

The following is a Press Release from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office:

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office and Office of Emergency Preparedness is issuing the following advisory to all residents of Beauregard Parish; stay off all parish roads unless of an extreme emergency.

It has been reported that sections of Hwy 27 are under a minimum of five feet of water and that rising waters have already caused numerous vehicles on other parish roads to become stranded.

Strong winds have caused some damage in the Singer area and caused an 18-wheeler to leave Highway 171 in Ragley. No injuries have been reported.

All residents are urged to use extreme caution and observe all warnings to rising flood waters.
