Weather closures: Beauregard, Vernon and Jeff Davis schools out

Due to the possibility of severe weather the following classes and meetings have been canceled.

Beauregard Parish School closed Wednesday.

Vernon Parish School closed Wednesday.

Jeff Davis Parish School closed Wednesday.

Bethel Christian School - Jennings - closed Wednesday

First Baptist - Jennings - closed Wednesday

Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School - Jennings - closed Wednesday

Northwestern State University Natchitoches and Leesville campuses are closed on Wednesday.

In addition, the following schools in Acadiana are reported closed as reported by KATC:

Lafayette Parish Public Schools are closed Wednesday

Acadia Parish Public Schools are closed Wednesday

St. Landry Parish Schools are closed Wednesday

Iberia Parish Public Schools are closed Wednesday

Vermilion Parish Public Schools are closed Wednesday

St. Martin Parish Public Schools are closed Wednesday

Central Louisiana Technical College Lamar Salter Campus will be closed Wednesday, March 21 but will resume classes on Thursday, March 22.

    The suspect in a homicide in Topsy has been captured by authorities in Jefferson County, Texas, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey.  David Wade Clark, 28, was the main suspect in the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office investigation into the death of Devin Marc Sanders on August 10, 2018, in Topsy, Louisiana. Just before noon on Aug. 14, the Lake Charles Police Department found Clark's truck in the Big Lots parking lot on Highway 14, said Ivey.  ...

    The Clacasieu Parish Police Jury celebrated the beginning of a project to extend Coach Williams Drive with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 16, 2018.
