Northbound and southbound traffic has been reopened. However, the Carencro exits (4 and 7) are still blocked.

LA 182, north and south of Carencro, is still blocked.

Traffic is being screened and local residents are being allowed to enter.

List of road closures from Carencro Police Department:

The following roadways are impassable and closed as of 9:30am.

University Avenue from Ira Street to St. Anne Street.

Prejean Road from University to Gourmet.

Saint Charles St., Jack St., Armand St., Fado St., Veterans Drive from I-49 to University, Te Ma Road, Ovide St., Rue Basin, Richard St.

We encourage all motorist to stay off roadways. High waters are causing a delay in emergency services and we ask that citizens remain calm and understand that we will try to respond to every call in a timely manner.

Sandbags are not available at this time so please do not call and make request.
