2 suspects arrested, 1 at large in Lake Charles police chase

The following is a Press Release from the Sulphur Police Department:

According to Chief of Police Lewis Coats, two suspects have been arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail resulting from the police chase which ended in Lake Charles Tuesday evening.

Courtney Tywan Beasley, 20, of Pensacola, FL and Latarus Vonta Hicks, 23 of Pensacola, Fl. were arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail Tuesday night. Both suspects were booked for simple possession of marijuana, possession of CDS schedule III drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of US currency, attempt and conspiracy to possess CDS drugs and resisting arrests by flight of an officer.

Bond for Beasley and Hicks will be set later today.

The third suspect, Walter Lamont Baker, 22, also of Pensacola, Fl is still at large.

He is described to be about 6'1" tall, between 190-200 lbs, wearing a white shirt, black or plaid shorts, with a tattoo sleeve on right arm.

The incident is being investigated by the Detective Division of the Sulphur Police Department.

    For the rest today, the rain chances remain high at 70% through the afternoon. Most of the rain will be to our west over in Texas, and along the Sabine River. There will not be as much rain in places to our east. Parishes like Allen, and Jeff Davis may only see some drizzle and light rain at times. Western Cameron, Calcasieu, Beauregard, and western Vernon parishes will likely have more rain throughout the day. This will be mostly rain, with storms unlikely.
