MSU Falls To Central Michigan 7-4

LAKE CHARLES (KPLC)-The McNeese Cowboy baseball team fell to Central Michigan 7-4 in the finale of its own round robin tournament Sunday at Cowboy Diamond.

The game was tied in the third before the Chippewas scored three runs, aided by two balks and a wild pitch, to take a 3-0 lead.

Kevin Santana started off the fifth with a walk and was followed by Tyler Klouser who doubled to right center.  Connor Lloyed grounded out to plate Santana and move Klouser over to third. Klouser would later score on a passed ball to bring the Cowboys within one at 3-2.

Central Michigan answered right back scoring one run in every inning the rest of the game.

The Cowboys did show life in the home half of the ninth, down 7-2 the Cowboys fought back.

Nick Eubanks started off the ninth with his first homerun of the season over the left center field fence.  Two batters later Santana doubled to right center and was later brought home by Llyod's single up the middle.

McNeese continued the rally managing to get the bases loaded with two outs but a pop fly that was caught in foul territory ended the Cowboys comeback.

The Cowboys fall to 3-8 on the season and will take the field again on Wednesday when they host UL-Lafayette at 6:30 at Cowboy Diamond.
