Following press release from City of Lake Charles:

Ongoing construction of Ryan Streetscape will continue on Monday, March 5, with the start of phase seven -- the Broad St. at Ryan St. intersection medallion project.  Work on this project is expected to continue, seven days a week, for approximately 45 to 60 days, and the intersection will be closed during construction.   During this phase, access to the Broad St. at Ryan St. intersection southeast corner parking lot will not be interrupted.

Use caution along Ryan St. south of Broad St. to Clarence St.   Additional work, with the installation of Streetscape plantings, may require temporary lane closures.

Traffic detour signs will be placed in the vicinity of the affected areas that are temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.

Ryan Street Streetscape is a bond issue project and part of the 2010 Lakefront Downtown Action Plan.  The goal of the project is to calm traffic and provide pedestrian friendly improvements that will bolster economic development in the Downtown District.
