Railroad replacement to shut La. 13 in Eunice

Eunice, La (AP) - A section of Louisiana Highway 13 in Eunice will be closed Sunday and most of Monday as a stretch of railroad is replaced.

State Department of Transportation and Development spokeswoman Deidra Lockhart said the highway between Aymond Street and East Ardoin Street will be closed at 7 a.m. on Sunday and should reopen about 3 p.m. on Monday.

Lockhart says about 60 feet of railroad will be replaced and the roadbed will be raised 2 inches at its crossing with the highway to ease a curve at the location.

Motorists can use Louisiana Highway 3123, Louisiana Highway 3116 or Louisiana Highway 91 as alternate routes.
