IOWA, LA (KPLC) - If you live in Iowa and don't have anything to do - a group of women aim to change that. The newly formed Iowa Women's League is raising money to promote community events. Saturday they opened their La Pan French Market, where nearly 30 vendors were on hand with arts and crafts, jewelry and other items.
The group has 60 members and said all proceeds will help provide the family events for free to the community.
"We have a lot of events planned. We are planning a community Easter egg hunt later in April and also want to do movies in the park, Trunk or treats for Halloween. We just want to do different community activities so these families in town of Iowa have a place to hang out not to have drive and go somewhere else. They are actually localized here in the town," said Joscelyn Langley, Iowa Women's League President.
According to Langley the best way to keep up with the group is to friend the Iowa Women's League on Facebook.
