Man held in hit-run; victim in serious but stable condition

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A man was arrested for attempted kidnapping and second degree murder toward his ex-girlfriend at Sowela Technical Community College.

Police said a female Sowela student was attacked in a parking lot by her ex-boyfriend, Brian A. Woods Thursday afternoon.

After the victim was able to flee away, Woods chased the victim in his vehicle and struck her.

Police said Woods fled the scene prior to their arrival. He was later arrested in Jennings by the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office within two hours.

His bond is set at $400,000.

At last check the woman was still listed in serious but stable condition.

Woods was arrested on Feb. 10 for allegedly choking the same woman and striking her car with his truck multiple times.
