The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:
On February 10
at approximately 1:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies
responded in reference to a report of domestic abuse.
When deputies
spoke with the victim, she advised during a verbal altercation with Brian A.
Woods, Jr., 24, of Lake Charles put his hands around her neck and began choking
her. After being able to escape from Woods, the victim fled in her
car.
While driving
down the road, the victim's car was struck several times from behind by a truck
driven by Woods. The victim was able to get away from Woods and
immediately contacted law enforcement.
An arrest
warrant was issued for Woods and on February 14 he turned himself into CPSO and
was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Calcasieu
Correctional Center and charged with domestic abuse battery; and aggravated
assault.
Judge
Wilford Carter set his bond at $3,000.
CPSO Deputy
Nathan McKee was the arresting deputy on this case. CPSO Detective Lt.
Gerald Thomas is the lead investigator on this case.
