LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

In honor of Valentine's Day, one local dentistry clinic offered its love and support to members of the community.

Employees of Oak Park Dental held its annual free dental care day for residents Tuesday.

It's the tenth year in a row that the office has held the free clinic, and each year residents take full advantage of the opportunity.

They started lining up early this morning to receive the dental care.

Dentists started seeing patients at eight o'clock and continued until five.

Four dentists saw patients today to perform anything from teeth cleanings to tooth extractions.

The patients were seen on a first come-first serve basis, and for some the free service was a much needed break.

"It's really good for the community to come out here, especially if you don't, if you have a big family or you can't afford insurance, this is a really good opportunity for people to come out here who need it," said patient Jennifer White. "It really is."

Employees wore T-shirts that read "the office with the heart" to symbolize Valentine's Day as they issued care to the patients.

The free clinic is held every year on February 14th and is offered to those residents who are unemployed or uninsured.
