Westlake man accused of possession of child pornography

The following is a Press Release from the Louisiana State Police:

On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, with the assistance of investigators from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the Lake Charles City Police, conducted a search warrant at the residence of 21-year-old Casey Harsh of Westlake in Calcasieu Parish.  The warrant was the result of an Operation Child Watch investigation initiated earlier this year involving child pornography downloaded onto a laptop computer owned by Harsh.

A search revealed sexual abuse images on Harsh's computer.  During an interview, Harsh admitted to downloading the images.  Harsh was arrested for pornography involving juveniles and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.  His bond was set at $10,000.

The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers.  The Louisiana State Police will continue our efforts to safeguard children whenever possible in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
