LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
Three incorporated groups: Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta came together to increase voter registration in Calcasieu Parish.
Organizers stopped by 15 locations and had upwards of 25 volunteers who lent a hand in signing up potential voters. The idea behind the "get the vote" theme was to "set up in places where people had to conduct business but also have the opportunity to register in case they have moved or just didn't register before", said Stella Miller, event participant.
The group will set up again on February 11th at the Pryce Miller Recreation Center in Lake Charles.
