The following is
a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:
On
January 12, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office detectives received a call from
the owner of a local business regarding an employee stealing from the
company.
The owner advised between August 2011 and January 3, 2012, accounts payable
employee Deanna S. Allen of Lake Charles, used over $21,700 in company funds
for personal use.
The
investigation revealed Allen charged $16,500 on the corporate credit accounts
at local car rental businesses to rent vehicles for her and other family
member, $4,450 on the company K-Mart corporate credit account, and over $700 on
the company's fleet fuel car, all for personal use without the permission of
the company.
When
questioned by detectives, Allen confirmed to using the company's funds for
personal use without permission from the company.
On
January 27, Allen, who also has an active warrants from Orange County, Texas,
for credit card abuse in 2009, and Sulphur Police Department for traffic
violations, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and
charged theft over $1,500.
Judge
Ron Ware has set her bond at $25,000.
