19-year-old arrested for failure to register

The following is a Press Release from Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On January 27, at around 3:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a car at East Broad Street and I-210 overpass in Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

Deputies spoke with the passenger, registered sex offender John B. Baham, 19, of Lake Charles, and upon checking his Louisiana driver's license it was discovered the address listed was outdated.

During further investigation, Baham confirmed to deputies that he had moved without notifying the proper authorities within three (3) days, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

Baham was convicted of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile in Calcasieu Parish in August 2011.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $6,000.

CPSO Deputy Joshua LeDoux and Sr. Cpl. Joshua Bazinet were the arresting deputies.
