Trial reset for coach in car crash case

JENNINGS, LA (AP) - The trial of Ville Platte High School head football coach Roy Serie on vehicular homicide charges has been reset for March.

Serie, 45, was scheduled for trial this past week. District Attorney Michael Cassidy said the case was postponed because of court scheduling conflicts.

Serie was arrested in August 2010 after authorities said tests showed he had illegal drugs in his system at the time of a May car crash that killed his wife, Sheila Series, 45, and Shannon Cox, 34, of Lake Charles. Cox was the driver in the vehicle struck by Serie's vehicle, authorities said.
