5 men arrested for solicitation for prostitution

The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Vice Division arrested 5 men following an undercover sting operation near the intersection of Kirkman Street and 18th Street and surrounding areas in Lake Charles, targeting those seeking sexual favors for monetary compensation.  

The following men were arrested and charged with solicitation for prostitution and released:

Scott Harrison, 49, 451 Old San Antonio Road, Bandera, Texas

Ralph Jemison, 54, 284 West Park Manor, Moss Bluff

Robert Stewart, 40, 304 Dubois Street, Jennings

Juan Holloman, 49, 905 17th Street, Lake Charles

Aaron Lopez, 46, 1010 Stafford Road, Moss Bluff, also charged with 1 count of crimes against nature.

    Multiple crashes throughout Southwest Louisiana are causing heavy traffic backup all along I-10. Sgt. James Anderson with Louisiana State Police said they are currently investigating two crashes on I-10 in Jeff Davis Parish. Google Traffic is showing that traffic is especially slow near the Iowa exit. Anderson also said traffic going into Texas is backed up due to an earlier crash near Vinton.     The National Hurricane Center has upgraded a tropical disturbance in the northwestern Caribbean Sea to Alberto with the designation as a sub-tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, with the center of circulation located about 85 miles from south of Cozumel, Mexico.

    Ward 3 Lake Charles City Marshal Joey Alcede has decided to retire before his current term expires in 2020.  Alcede has spent his life in law enforcement, spending many years as warden at the Calcasieu Parish Jail and then serving as Ward 3 Lake Charles  Marshal for 14.
