Fugitive sought in multi-agency hunt held in rape probe

The following is from the United States Department of Justice:

UZARD COUNTY, ARK — A man sought in Crowley, LA in an aggravated rape case and in Calcasieu Parish for failure to register as a sex offender was nabbed here Friday as he crawled from a basement window, trying to evade capture.

William Langley Jr. was arrested around 10:30 a.m. by U.S. marshals  in the Eastern District of Arkansas. 

Langley is also under investigation by the Marshal Service for violations of the Adam Walsh Act.

The U.S. Marshals' Violent Offender Task Force in Lake Charles and Lafayette began working this case on December 2011. Assisting were Arkansas atate police and Izard and Sharp county sheriff's officials in Arkansas. 

Langley was booked at the Izard County Jail in Arkansas and will likely be extradited back to Louisiana in the near future.
