Vernon Parish crash leaves 1 dead

Rosepine, La (AP) -

A 20-year-old woman from Kentucky was killed Sunday in a wreck in Vernon Parish.

State police say troopers responded to a crash about 4 a.m. on U.S. Highway 171, north of Rosepine.

The victim, Tiffany D. Bowmer, of Florence, Ky., was in a car driven by 20-year-old Cody A. Bundy, of Burlington, Ky., when Bundy lost control and left the right side of the road, went into a ditch and hit two trees.

State police say Bundy received moderate injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Bowmer was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
