While it may be the season to let the good times roll Lake Charles Police aren't taking any excuses when it comes to impaired driving. Police were set up at the 1600 block of McNeese Street Friday night from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m.
According to Deputy Chief Mark Kraus 1,140 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Twelve of those drivers were given field sobriety tests resulting in four DWI arrests. 37 other people were also cited for no seatbelt or child restraint.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police assisted in Friday night's detail.
