A crash Tuesday morning in Allen Parish claimed the lives of two teens from Ville Platte.

The following is a press release from the Louisiana State Police:

Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations brought several criminal cases to conclusion this past week resulting in arrests across numerous parishes.

Following an investigation into alleged "Doctor Shopping", Louisiana State Police Narcotic Detectives have charged a Slidell man with 20 counts of fraudulently obtaining a controlled dangerous substance. The Troopers' investigation revealed that David Songy (W/M age 48) visited numerous medical offices seeking the same prescription from multiple physicians. Over a 6 month period, Songy visited 22 different doctors and 18 separate pharmacies across St. Tammany and Jefferson Parish where he received and filled multiple prescriptions for various pain medications. On January 9, 2012, Songy was arrested without incident and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. LA Revised Statute 40:971B(1), often referred to as "Doctor Shopping", makes it illegal for individuals to obtain or seek to obtain any controlled dangerous substance or a prescription for a controlled dangerous substance from multiple health care practitioners without disclosing the existing prescription.

On January 9, 2012, the OMV office in Breaux Bridge contacted the Louisiana State Police Detectives regarding an individual attempting to fraudulently obtain a Driver's License. As a result, Detectives arrested Crystal Lynn Tolliver (B/F, age 28) for Filing False Public Records. Tolliver was booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail without incident.

On January 9, 2012, the Louisiana State Police Detectives received a complaint from the Wal-Greens Pharmacy Lost Prevention in Houma, LA. As a result of the complaint, Troopers arrested Rosalynn Matherne (W/F) of Houma, LA, on January 10, 2012, for Obtaining a Legend Drug by Fraud and Obtaining a CDS by Fraud. Matherne was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail without incident.

Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations in New Orleans Field Office was contacted by the St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office in November 2011 to assist with an investigation involving Cyberbulling and Battery. During the course of the investigation, Detectives found that on November 15, 2011 the sheriff's office was notified of a stabbing that occurred in the Waffle House parking lot in Laplace, LA. The altercation was between Jeneh Watkins (B/F age 22) of Laplace, LA, and Roneke Moore (B/F age 18) of Reserve, LA, and originated from an on-going feud that took place on the on-line social networking site "Twitter". Further investigation revealed that Watkins stabbed Moore in the parking lot during the altercation. Watkins also sustained a stab wound during the altercation. The injuries were not life threatening. Watkins was arrested on January 10, 2012, and was booked into the St. John the Baptist Parish Jail for Aggravated Battery (2 counts) and Cyberbullying. Moore was booked on January 11, 2012, for Simple Battery.

On January 11, 2012, the Louisiana State Police Detectives assisted the St. Martinville Police Department and the Lafayette City Marshal's Office with executing arrest warrants that were held for individuals that were suspected to reside within the St. Martinville corporate limits. The Joint operation resulted in the arrest of 22 fugitives.

On January 12, 2012, Louisiana State Police investigators assisted DHS ICE agents in locating and arresting Alexis Beltre , a federal fugitive from the Territory of Puerto Rico. Beltre was arrested at Motiva Enterprises in Convent, LA, where he was employed as a laborer. Beltre's arrest was one of fifty executed simultaneously throughout the United States by agents of the Department of Justice as part of Operation Island Express. Operation Island Express was a nationally coordinated investigation, the targets of which were pilfering and selling Puerto Rican citizens' identity documents for purposes of committing financial fraud and obtaining U.S. passports.

The Louisiana State Police on-line reporting system is also available to the public through a convenient and secure reporting form that is submitted to the appropriate investigators. Citizens can access the form by visiting www.lsp.org and clicking the Suspicious Activity link.
