Sheriff’s deputies searching for armed robbery suspect

The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On January 10, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the Shell convenience store, 3605 J. Bennett Johnston Street, Lake Charles, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival deputies spoke with the store clerk who advised a man entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money. After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the store on foot.

The Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive search of the area but was unable to locate the suspect.  He is described as young black man, wearing a blue hoodie with yellow "McNeese State University" writing on the chest, light gray sweat pants, and a white material covering his face.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying this man.  If anyone knows anything about this robbery, please call CPSO at 491-3605 or Crimestoppers at 439-2222.
