The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On January 12 at approximately 2:00 a.m., CPSO Vehicle Crimes Unit detectives were dispatched to a house on Prienwood Drive in Lake Charles after receiving a call regarding a possible burglary in progress.

The caller advised that she witnessed two men, later identified as Taylor J. Lee, 18, of Lake Charles, and a 16 year old juvenile, outside of a house looking into a vehicle parked in a driveway.

Upon arrival, detectives quickly located and apprehended Lee and the juvenile, who were hiding behind a house on Timber Lane. Detectives discovered the juvenile was in possession of a GPS, a wallet and a vehicle key.

After further investigation, it was discovered two other victims on Prienwood Drive had reported items, including purses, wallets, and credit cards, stolen out of their unlocked vehicles.

Lee was booked into Calcasieu Correction Center and the juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.  Both, who are currently on probation for previous burglary and thefts in Calcasieu Parish, are charged with simple burglary; and theft over $500.

CPSO Detective Sconnie Granger is the lead investigator on this case.
