Fatal three-vehicle crash on Highway 90

JENNINGS, LA (KPLC) -

Louisiana State Police confirmed the death of a Jennings man who died Thursday, January 12th in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90 near Louisiana Highway 1126 about one mile east of Jennings.

According to troopers, a pick-up truck driven by 53-year-old Aden L. Greek, of Jennings, was traveling west on U.S. 90 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 18-wheeler head-on.  Greek died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries and was not charged.

A third vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Lakesha Myers, of Jennings, was traveling east behind the 18-wheeler and struck its rear after the initial crash.  Myers was transported to Jennings American Legion Hospital with moderate injuries.  Myers was charged with following too close and driving under suspension.

"Seatbelts may not have been worn by all drivers in the crash", said Louisiana State Police Sgt. James Anderson.

The crash is still under investigation.
