MSU Set For Double Header Against Lamar

Lake Charles, (KPLC)-Both the McNeese Men and Women's Basketball teams will continue Southland Conference play tonight when they host rival Lamar in a double-header at Burton Coliseum.

The Cowgirls will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. and the Cowboys will play 30 minutes following the conclusion of that game. The highlight of course, will be the unveiling of five McNeese championship banners: the men and women 2010-2011 SLC regular season titles, the Cowgirls SLC tournament title, a banner recognizing the Cowgirls participation in the NCAA tournament and a banner for the Cowboys participation in the NIT.

The Pokes (5-8, 1-0) are coming off a win in their SLC Opener against Corpus Christi. The Cardinals (11-5, 2-0) had five guys score in double figures in their 103-67 victory over Central Arkansas.

The Lady Pokes (11-4, 1-0) also opened up conference play with a win over the Islanders. The women are 19-1 overall at home and have a 9-0 SLC home record dating back to last season. The Cardinals (8-7, 0-1) dropped their SLC opener to Central Arkansas last weekend.

Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls beat the Cardinals in last year's season finale to capture the Southland Conference titles outright.
