Programs offered to prevent drunk driving

Project Roadblock: Local Businesses

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Several companies in southwest Louisiana are offering programs during this holiday season to discourage drivers from getting behind the wheel after drinking.

The "Tow & Geaux" program is a free towing service program available to drivers in the Lake Charles, Westlake and Sulphur area. The program began on December 24 and runs through December 31. Elite Service towing teamed up with KYKZ and Budweiser to keep drunk drivers off the roads.

Guy's Towing Service is offering T.O.W.E.D., a similar program to prevent drunk driving. This program is offered to motorists in Lake Charles, Lafayette, Broussard and Baton Rouge. Callers will receive a free tow and ride home, not to another drinking location. The vehicle must operate and motorists must not have been already detained by law enforcement.

To utilize "Tow & Geaux" call Elite Services at (337) 433-3548. For T.O.W.E.D. motorists can call (337) 237-4897.
