Rock For Tots making Christmas brighter for area children

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

School House Rock put on an event called Rock for Tots earlier in December.  The event took place at Central School in Lake Charles where 16 bands came together and played for charity.

School House Rock's official, Bam Arceneaux says, "We had a toy drive and that was the admissions fee. It was $10 to buy a toy and that's how we gathered up the toys and then we went and bought more toys. Here we are today, delivering them with Santa".

Playing Santa for the event was John Day. Day says, "It was an honor to be able to play Santa while handing out gifts to Oasis Women's Shelter, The Potter's House [Women's Shelter] and Abraham's Tent".

Arceneaux says his group is not finished yet with charity. School House Rock will continue to put on more events during the year 2012 for other causes.
