Cowboys Fall Short to Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. (AP) - Cordarius Johnson scored 19 points and

Louisiana Tech held off a late rally to defeat McNeese State 60-58

on Wednesday night.

The score was tied nine times and neither team led by more than

five points in the first half.

Louisiana Tech grabbed its biggest lead at 56-43 with 7:29

remaining in the game before the Cowboys made a final push. The

Bulldogs led 60-51 after a basket by Johnson with 4:56 to play but

McNeese State scored the final seven points to pull to within two.

The Bulldogs (5-5) dominated the game close to the basket,

outscoring the Cowboys 30-16 in the paint.

Patrick Richard had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Adrian Fields

added 11 points for the Cowboys (4-5), who have lost three of their

past four and have been held to fewer than 60 points in each of

those losses.
