Delafosse hearing delayed until January - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Delafosse hearing delayed until January

A hearing set for Wednesday has been rescheduled in the case against Mark Anthony Delafosse.  Delafosse originally pleaded guilty in 1998 to manslaughter and armed robbery charges.  Now Delfosse wants to withdraw the plea.

Delafosse is serving an 80-year sentence for shooting Christopher Freeman, 20, during a Dec. 1, 1996, robbery on Dixy Drive in Lake Charles.

Delafosse's defense attorney Sharon Wilson has said Delafosse did not fully understand the circumstances of his plea - when Delafosse's former defense attorney advised him to take it.
