Moss Bluff man, 52, held in $10K October break-in

The following is a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles – On October 25, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Wedgewood Drive in Moss Bluff regarding a burglary.

When deputies arrived and spoke with the victim, she advised when she returned home, she noticed her kitchen window was open, and over $10,000 worth of cash, antique coins and jewelry were missing.

During further investigation it was learned several pieces of the stolen jewelry were pawned by John A. Lacour, 52, of Moss Bluff, at a local pawnshop on October 26.

Lacour was arrested in connection with the burglary and theft and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary; and theft over $1,500.

Judge Ron Ware set Lacour's bond at $12,500.

CPSO Detective David Burnett is the lead investigator on this case.  He was able to recover $5,200 in stolen jewelry from the pawnshop.
