The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On December 7 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Sgt. Stuart Henderson conducted a stop on a truck near mile marker 12 traveling east on I-10 for a traffic violation.

When Sgt. Henderson approached the car and spoke with the driver of the truck, Arthur L. Jackson, 57, of Laurel, Mississippi, he began to act suspicious.  After receiving consent from Jackson, Sgt. Henderson conducted a search of the truck.  During the search, over 65 pounds of marijuana wrapped in clear plastic cellophane was recovered from a toolbox in the back of the truck, with an estimated street value of over $30,000.

Jackson was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
