Lena Street armed robbery suspects arrested

The following is a Press Release from the Lake Charles Police Department:

On November 25, 2011 at approximately 02:00 a.m., an armed robbery occurred on the street in front of 2929 Lena Street. 

The two victims had just returned home and parked in front of the residence when one of the victim's exited their vehicle was approached by a suspect armed with a firearm.  The second victim then exited the vehicle and was struck in the back of the head with a handgun and knocked to the ground by a second suspect.  The suspects began asking for the keys to their 1999 Cadillac White in color with Chrome "Swanger Rims"  bearing an unknown temp tag. The two suspects removed the victim's car keys, wallet, wrist watch, shoes, and cell phone before fleeing in the stolen vehicle. 

Detective Colby Thompson was the investigator called out on this incident.  Detectives David Rupf and Franklin Fondel conducted follow up investigations into this matter and were able to identify and obtain warrants on the two suspects who are:   

Damien Miller B/M Dob 07-18-79 5'7- 5'08 190 lbs - 200 lbs. of Lake Charles.   

Jerimiah Christopher Jones B/M Dob 04-03-88, 5'11" 165 lbs of Lake Charles.   

Miller suspect turned himself into L.C.P.D. Detectives in the afternoon hours of 11/30/11.  L.C.P.D. Swat Officers (Benjamin Elter & John Thacker) arrested Jerimiah Jones at Opelousas Street & North Lincoln Street at 10:08 p.m. on 11/30/11. 

Damien Miller was booked into CCC on a warrant for the following charges: 1 count of armed robbery, 1 count of theft of a motor vehicle, and 1 count of aggravated 2nd degree battery, bond $275,000.00.

Jerimiah Christopher Jones was booked into CCC on a warrant for the following charges: 1 count of armed robbery & 1 count of theft of a motor vehicle, bond $255,000.00.

    The Lake Charles Care Center is teaming up with Harbor Hospice for a one-day coat drive aimed at keeping every senior citizen in Calcasieu Parish warm this winter. Their goal is to collect as many coats as possible.     Over a month ago KPLC  told you about audit issues happening in the town of Fenton.  Mayor Eddie Alfred's payroll records for last year showed he was overpaid over $12,000.  Tuesday night the village held their city council meeting where they reviewed last year's audit.  No comments were coming from Fenton Mayor Eddie Alfred or auditor Coy Vincent.  Tuesday night Fenton city council met to review the town's audit from last year.  Back in late October...More >>
